Project introduction:?The Penguins FPSO project is the first cylindrical FPSO construction project undertaken by COOEC. The project, located in the North Sea, UK, is 160km?away from the coastline with 165m water depth. With 3*4 multi-point mooring systems employed, the FPSO units of this project are designed according to the concept of SEVAN 400 cylindrical FPSO with a design life of 20 years and a total weight of about 31,000 tons, among which the total weight of the hull is about 17,000 tons and the total weight of the topside is about 14,000 tons.

Project highlights:?The project is characterized by high degree of integration, limited working space, stringent safety requirements, great difficulty in construction, complex process, multiple technical difficulties and challenges and Shell’s stringent inspection/acceptance criteria. The FPSO units are requested to be constructed as per highly stringent standards so that they do not need “docking in 20 years”. COOEC managed to complete the lifting of 18 modules in only 27 days, which was an excellent performance in the lifting of integrated modules highly recognized by?SHELL.
