“HYSY 278” is a 50,000 tons self-propelled, semi-submersible barge and cable laying vessel equipped with a DP2 dynamic positioning system. With a maximum speed of more than 12 knots and a maximum float-over capacity of 18,000 tons, this vessel can transport and lift modules weighing up to 25,000 tons. With the capacity of cable laying, the carousel loading capacity is up to 10,000 tons.
It has completed many transport and float-over installation projects both in domestic and overseas, including the float-over installation of the 15,000 tons Huizhou 25-8 DPP module in the South China Sea, which is the first float-over installation with a DP vessel in China, and the transportation of the 13,140 tons jack-up drilling rig Energy Emerger to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
